Consensus U.S. GDP (Gross Domestic Product) estimates for 2017 and 2018 ticked up slightly during the first 3 – 4 months of the year based on the anticipation for implementation of at least some of the Trump agenda. The most recent estimates have ticked down slightly as healthcare and tax reform have been delayed. Estimates for 2017 and 2018 indicate relatively modest growth at 2.20% and 2.30% respectively. However, this compares favorably with 1.6% growth in 2016.
